Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa & City Tour
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, an Aspire Ethiopia Tours representative will meet and escort you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a guided city tour of Addis Ababa, featuring:

Day 2: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar (Flight)
Fly to Bahir Dar, where your driver will transfer you to your hotel. Begin with a scenic boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the island monastery of Ura Kidane Mihret on the Zege Peninsula. Explore its stunning 14th-century murals, ancient manuscripts, royal crowns, and processional crosses. Walk through the lush forest, home to monkeys and abundant birdlife. Wildlife sightings on the lake, including hippos, are possible.
After lunch, drive approximately 35 km to visit the spectacular Blue Nile Falls, plunging 45 meters in a dramatic cascade. Return to Bahir Dar late afternoon to explore the vibrant local market, famous for handicrafts such as jewelry, woven garments, and traditional Agelgil baskets.
Day 3: Bahir Dar – Gondar (170 km)
After breakfast, drive to Gondar, the 17th-century royal capital known for its medieval castles and churches. Explore the Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi), a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring several well-preserved castles. Continue to the breathtaking Debre Berhan Selassie Church, famed for its iconic angelic ceiling murals and richly painted walls.
Day 4: Gondar – Simien Mountains National Park (120 km)
Depart early for the Simien Mountains National Park, arriving at Simien Lodge the highest lodge in Africa around noon. After lunch, begin exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for dramatic escarpments and rare endemic wildlife.

Day 5: Debark – Axum (240 km)
After breakfast, continue to Axum (approx. 7 hrs), enjoying impressive highland landscapes along the way. Axum dating back over 2,000 years is regarded as the cradle of Ethiopian civilization and the birthplace of Ethiopian Christianity.

Drive to Yeha (50 km), passing through Adwa, the site of Ethiopia’s famous victory over the Italians in 1896. Visit the remarkable pre Axumite Temple of Yeha, boasting 12-meter-high stone walls estimated to be 2,500 years old.
Continue to Mekelle, visiting two of Tigray’s most celebrated churches Wukro Cherkos and Abreha We Atsbeha known for their impressive architecture and sacred art.
Day 8: Mekelle – Lalibela
Travel through varied landscapes to reach Lalibela, arriving in the late afternoon. Check into your hotel and rest for the next day’s exploration of the legendary rock-hewn churches.

Day 10: Lalibela – Addis Ababa (Flight) & Departure
Depending on flight schedule, visit the Ne’akuto Le’ab Monastery before heading to the airport. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, enjoy last-minute sightseeing or shopping.
Enjoy a traditional Ethiopian farewell dinner featuring cultural music, dances, and authentic cuisine. Afterwards, transfer to Bole International Airport for departure or to your hotel for an extended stay.
