Awash National Park

One of the oldest National Parks in Ethiopia and named after the great Awash River, the park is located 225Km east of Addis Ababa via the Djibouti Road. Its well-protected area worth visiting especially for people who are interested in waterfalls; taking time to walk around the national park to enjoy the waterfall and hot spring on the other side of the park. Wildlife in this park include the East African Oryx, Soemmerring’s Gazelle, Dik-dik, the Lesser and Greater Kudus, and Warthogs. Anubis baboons and hamadryas baboons are abundant everywhere in the park. For bird-watchers there are over 453 species of native birds. There is a nice lodging service inside the park for people who want to overnight in the middle of the nature, witnessing the Crocodiles movement in the night from a top view of the passing by river.
